Francis Dunnery has released a genuine blues album, “THE BLUES OF TOMBSTONE DUNNERY,” that tackles this music head-on, expressing its full range of emotions and striking directly at the listener’s heart. Francis Dunnery, who shone as a guitarist and singer in the progressive rock band IT BITES during the 80s, continued to create a multitude of artistic works that added further brilliance to his creativity as a musician after leaving the band. Starting in 2023, he also reignited under the name IT BITES FD, releasing the live work “Live From The Black Country.” We asked Francis Dunnery himself about his latest blues album “THE BLUES OF TOMBSTONE DUNNERY” and his and his upcoming plans.

Francis Dunnery has just released his new album “Vampires” featuring re-recorded IT BITES material, following his previous album “Frankenstein Monster” which stunned many fans, showcasing a collection of re-recorded NECROMANDUS songs. NECROMANDUS was the legendary band in which his brother Barry Dunnery was part of. Francis’ latest studio effort “Vampires” should definitely gather attention among the fans, as IT BITES tunes still remain to have an enduring popularity. The re-recorded IT BITES material has a more mature feel to it, along with a very beautiful sound production. Former IT BITES guitarist and singer Francis Dunnery continues to deliver numerous artistic albums with further brilliance in his talent of writing music with a one of a kind creativity. Francis and his music was greatly influenced by his elder brother Barry Dunnery, who was a member of the band NECROMANDUS discovered by BLACK SABBATH’s Tony Iommi back in the 70s. After Barry Dunnery passing away in 2008, Francis Dunnery went into re-recording NECROMANDUS’ music along with 2 new original songs and a cover version of WARM DUST’s “Blood Of My Fathers” to complete his new album “Frankenstein Monster”. IT BITESにてギタリスト・シンガーとして活躍したフランシス・ダナリーは、IT BITESから離れた以降も自らのミュージシャンとしての創造力に更なる輝きを増した数多くのアーティスティックな作品を創り続けている。彼が幼い頃よりその音楽的センスを発展させていく中で大きな影響を与え続けたのが兄でありミュージシャンのバリー・ダナリーであった。

2008年にその生涯を終えたバリーは1970年代にNECROMANDUSのメンバーとして活動、バンドはトニー・アイオミによりその才能を認められアルバムを制作している。フランシスは兄がNECROMANDUSとして残した楽曲を自らのバンドで再びプレイ、そして自身の新曲２曲とWARM DUSTの”Blood Of My Fathers”をカヴァーした曲を加えたアルバム「Frankenstein Monster」を創り上げた。「Frankenstein Monster」に込められている想いについてフランシスに訊いた。
