エリック・ジョンソンがジミ・ヘンドリックスの”The Wind Cries Mary”をカヴァーしニューシングルとしてリリースした。
今回注目すべきはギタリストであるエリックがジミ・ヘンドリックスの曲をギターではなくピアノでカヴァーしている点であり、ギタープレイ同様にピアノにおいても独自のエリック・ワールドが展開されている。

Eric Barnett
American rock instrumental trio POINTS NORTH has released their self titled second album, featuring impressive melodic tunes such as “Northstar” and “Child’s Play”, which is a must for all rock instrumental fans.
POINTS NORTH consists of guitarist Eric Barnett, along with ex-WHITESNAKE bass player Uriah Duffy and drummer Kevin Aiello. The instrumental trio is known for its “melodic guitar-driven instrument music”, as Eric Barnett puts it.
Eric Barnett was a finalist for Guitar Player Magazine’s 2008 Guitar Superstar Competition, judged by well-known players such as Andy Summers from THE POLICE, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Elliot Easton from THE CARS, and George Lynch, in which Eric Barnett’s extraordinary guitar technique was well received by the judges as well as the audience.
Eric Barnett took time to talk to MUSE ON MUSE in depth about his musical background, about how POINTS NORTH was formed, and about the new “Points North” album.
Reb Beach

Reb Beach developed his remarkable guitar techniques through his early career of being a studio musician for many big names. Since his debut for Winger in 1988, Reb gained his name as a promising guitar hero for next generation by his story-telling guitar play and signature phrasing which emphasize tracks largely. Then he joined bands/projects like Dokken, Whitesnake and his main band Winger. Reb has recently released Fusion Rock instrumental album “View From The Inside” which displays from a hypnotically catchy tracks to 70s style Fusion tracks to improvised tunes. His fans won’t ever be bored by Reb’s musicianship and the power of guitar through the musical journey which this record delivers in a beautiful way. Muse On Muse had a chat with Reb himself about his crucial Fusion Rock album “ View From The Inside”.
Randy McStine
McStine & Minnemann consists of Marco Minneman and Randy McStine. Marco not only is known for a drummer of super-technical band The Aristocrats, but also does drums, guitar, keyboard and production. Randy also is a brilliant multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer whose music spans wide spectrum of genres and he formed LO-FI RESISTANCE and Fringe alongside his long solo career from his teenage years.
Their debut album “McStine & Minnemann” exhibits their original style which is rock-based catchy music with some kind of phenomenon and it lures us into their unique world and make us listen to the album over and over again. We had a chat with Randy McStine about their striking new album.
Angel Vivaldi
The guitarist Angel Vivaldi has been receiving remarkable attention for his musical works especially on Youtube. Angel’s music video for “A Martian Winter” which was dropped in 2012 went viral and hit more than 6 million views. His other music videos went on to hit over a few hundred thousand views and he currently has over one hundred thousand people subscribed to his youtube channel.
His highly technical guitar skills truly are an art form all their own and Angel’s sense to implement them at the right time really make the songs shine. The contrast of shredding technical guitar riffs and catchy beautiful melodies work well on the heavier tracks.
Listener’s have been attracted to the new album for it’s technical guitar, his musical taste and high production value. Also having guest musicians Nita Strauss from Alice Cooper and Guss G on the album helped to build the hype.
He took some time to talk to Muse On Muse about his musical background and his brand new set “Synapse”.
Oz Noy
Oz Noy has just released “Who Gives A Funk”, which his latest studio album following “Twisted Blues Vol.1” and “Twisted Blues Vol.2”. The “Twisted Blues” albums displayed Oz Noy’s unique and original music style, also featuring guest musicians such as Eric Johnson, Warren Haynes, Chick Corea, just to name a few.
Oz’s latest studio effort also showcases his originality, this time with guests such as Randy Brecker, Robben Ford, Joe Bonamassa and Dweezil Zappa. Also including a horn section to the ensemble, the album’s highlights include a high level of musical performance and chemical reaction between Oz Noy and the many guest musicians participating.
